Advocacy Coordination of other services
BWA can provide advocacy in a number of areas, the intention of this service is to assist members to access or better understand the services that are available to them either through the association itself or through other organisations or agencies.
ACCOMMODATION
In addition to the accommodation services provided by BWA, we may be able to assist you in accessing other accommodation alternatives. These may be from such organisations as The South Australian Housing Trust, various housing cooperatives, aged care facilities or private rental accommodation.
Located at 1 Cameron Avenue, Gilles Plains are 24 one bedroom units with shared laundry facilities. The Association acts as a landlord only and residents independently cater for all their own living needs. The units are available for rental by non BWA members as well as BWA members. FINANCIAL SUPPORT
As well as the direct financial supports BWA can provide, we can also help you access and better understand services that agencies such as Centrelink provide. We can also assist you in dealing with financial institutions or gaining other financial services or advice.
HEALTH
Depending on your individual circumstances we can put you in touch with or coordinate services from community health organisations such as Domiciliary Care, other sensory organisations, organisations that provide in home care and many others.
INDIVIDUAL NEEDS
You may require access to a service that is specific to your individual needs, or you may not even know what services are available to you. We can assist you by providing advocacy in a range of areas on your behalf or assist you in gaining a particular service and work with you to help resolve any difficulties.
